Yannis Papaioannou
is considered one of the best talents in the history of Greek
chess. He has won five junior national titles, but his most
impressive successes have been the Greek Championships that he
won in 1997, 1998 and 1998. In the latest Chess Olympiad in
Constantinople he had an exceptional performance with the Greek
National Team, amassing 7.5 points in 13 games and achieving a
2648 ELO (compared to the competition average of 2591). He has
been competing for Kydon since 2001. |
